Toolmakers

A toolmaker earns trust one rung of a ladder at a time. The ladder has three rungs: verified, simulation-proven, automation-ready. Where a tool sits is a published fact, not a vendor claim. Each rung is a public mark that anyone can read, and every mark has a name.

The names are OSML-Read, OSML-Write and OSML-Full, and each one is marked per tool category. A tool earns a mark by passing the same public tests as every other tool in its category: physics checks and an open review. Never pay-to-play is carved into the mark itself - the marks are earned, never bought. Open specs like these have been tried before, at a scale everyone knows.

Facebook's open hardware specs launched the data-center boom. The Open Compute Project was founded in April 2011 to publish them, and Facebook's Prineville data center ran on 38% less energy at 24% lower cost. Since 2011 these open specs have scaled compute: hyperscale data centers grew from 300 in 2016 to 1,189 in 2025. Open specs can scale energy, and the first step is your real tool, on the map.

On the map, your tool is not a line in a catalog. It is a 3D twin with a chain of proof behind it: the patent, the model, your sign-off, the verified spec, and a simulation-ready state. A machine language without verified referents is chatter.
